Editorial Policy

Editorial Independence
DownloadMedia.com maintains complete editorial independence in all of its coverage. Our review conclusions, product rankings, scores, and recommendations are determined solely by our testing process and editorial judgment. No vendor, advertiser, or affiliate partner has any influence over our editorial output.
Positive reviews cannot be purchased. Negative reviews cannot be suppressed. Coverage cannot be guaranteed through commercial relationships.
How We Select Products to Review
We prioritise products that are widely used, actively maintained, and relevant to the workflows of our audience. Specifically, we consider:
- Market presence and user base size
- Relevance to the categories we cover
- Frequency of reader and community requests
- Availability of the software for testing (free trial, free tier, or press access)
- Active development with a credible product roadmap
We do not review products that cannot be independently tested. We do not accept payment to review or feature a product.
Commitment to Accuracy
Every review published on DownloadMedia.com reflects the actual state of the software at the time of writing. We verify pricing, feature lists, and compatibility claims directly against the vendor's official materials before publication.
Update Frequency
Creator software changes continuously. We operate a rolling review update cycle to ensure published content remains accurate. Every article on this site displays a "Last Updated" date. Reviews are re-examined when a major new version is released, pricing changes significantly, a reader submits a factual correction, or our scheduled review cycle reaches the article.
Conflict of Interest Policy
We earn revenue through affiliate commissions on purchases made via links on our site. This relationship is disclosed clearly on every page where affiliate links appear. Affiliate relationships are established after editorial decisions — a product is not included in a "Best Of" list because we have an affiliate deal with that vendor.
No reviewer is permitted to hold a financial interest in a product they are assigned to review.
Corrections and Transparency
When errors are identified — whether by our team, our readers, or a vendor — we correct them promptly and transparently. Minor corrections are made directly in the text. Substantive factual errors are corrected with an editor's note explaining the change. We do not silently delete content or alter conclusions without disclosure.
To submit a correction, please contact our editorial team.
Vendor Relationships
We occasionally receive software licenses or press access from vendors to facilitate testing. This does not constitute payment for coverage and does not obligate us to publish a review or present the software in a positive light.
